the Gatekeeper

This is one of the gatekeepers for the city of Choronos. Every evening, just before sundown, he and another stallion are fitted with harness and hitched to the huge wooden doors at Choronos' main gate. Together they pull the doors shut, signifying the start of Choronos' curfew hours. I haven't really thought of a name for him, because there are several stallions that do this task. He is more of a symbol of the rest of the group. I was thinking along the lines of draft horses when I drew him, hence the long hair on his feet. (Which is called feathering, for those of you who don't know horses.) He would about have to be of draft size, seeing how big the doors are. I think he turned out pretty cool, don't you think? I especially like his cool beard goin' on. Nice, huh?
